Mental health stigma is still one of the biggest barriers to people getting help in Nepal — not because people don't struggle, but because struggling out loud still feels risky for many.
That silence has a real cost. People wait years before reaching out, or never do. Families carry things alone that would be lighter shared with someone trained to help.
Change happens slowly, and mostly through ordinary conversations — a friend admitting they're in therapy, a workplace normalizing mental health days, a parent modeling that asking for help is a strength, not a weakness.
That's part of why we run community workshops alongside clinical care — the more mental health is talked about normally, the easier it becomes for the next person to ask for help.
